The whole project in one model: the reservoir dug to its 7720 bottom, the dam and keyway, outlet works, emergency spillway and bridge, the supply ditch inlet and culvert crossing, boat ramp and beach, access roads and parking, and the spoil mound southwest of the pond, all set on the drone surface and aerial photo. Switch between the ground today, the finished project, and cut and fill, or open the outlet works, spillway, supply inlet and bridge as close-up detail views.
Still views of the finished project, taken from this same model at true scale. Click a picture to enlarge it, or Show in 3D to put the model's camera at that spot.
Ground today is the 10/30 drone surface with its full-resolution aerial photo (fall colors; the far southeast corner outside the flight uses an older summer photo). Finished is the built project. Cut & fill colors the change: red is dug out, blue is filled, the photo shows where nothing changes. Layers and tools (site layout, SWPPP and dewatering trench, haul road, clay, sand, test pits) work on all three and sit on whichever surface is showing.
Thin lines are 2 ft contours on the surface you are viewing (bold every 10 ft). The blue line is the 7730 water line and the orange line is the limit of work, where finished grade meets existing ground. Contours can be turned off.
The pond at its normal level of 7730. Turn it off to see the bottom, the 3:1 side slopes and the islands.
Outlet works (riser, pipe, headwall, flared end, filter diaphragm, outlet channel), the SPW-1 bridge and the walking trail.
Makes the finished ground clear so the buried pipe and filter diaphragm show under the dam.
The pond and dam use a sharper photo cut from the full-resolution 10/30 flight. New work is textured (riprap, grass, gravel, sand), the water ripples and shows depth, willows and banks along Elk Hollow Creek come straight from the full-resolution drone surface, and sagebrush dots the spoil area.
The site is 3,000 ft across but only about 30 ft high, so height is stretched 2 times to start. Click to step through x4 and true scale.
Off unless you want them. Each one turns on its tag and a bold outline traced from the drone surface at today's water level (about 7730.3): green around the two islands in today's pond and cyan around its shoreline. The old pond is dug out; the two islands stay, as drawn on Sheet 3.
One layer for the SWPPP and dewatering plan: silt fence, berms, buffers, track pads, staging and the spoil area, plus the dewatering trench along the dam wall (the first cut of the main excavation, dug to the 7720 pond bottom with 3:1 side walls and never below finished grade), the sump and two pumps at its low end, and the perforated discharge pipe across the field. The trench is cut into the ground on Ground today; on Finished and Cut & fill its footprint shows in purple.
Turn it on, then click two points on the ground. A side view shows ground today (dashed) and finished grade (solid), cut in red, fill in blue, water in light blue, with the cut and fill area of the section.
Click points on the ground for each leg's length and slope (on finished grade) and the total. Three or more points also give the enclosed plan area. Undo and Clear are on the panel.
The plan quantities from the Engineer's Sheet 7 quantity table and Exhibit A.
In Finished view, slide the pond from empty to 7733.5. Above the 7731 crest the emergency spillway channel takes the flood.
Types A to D placed where Sheet 3 shows them (approximate): gravel patch, rock piles, single boulders, and anchored dead trees.
The outlet works, emergency spillway, supply inlet and SPW-1 bridge each open as a close-up in the same model, at their real place on the drone ground and photo, with their own numbered tags and notes. The bridge view adds Pull apart and Soil section. Whole site goes back.
Shows the approximate haul from the pond to the spoil mound along the ranch road, with its one-way length in the tag.
